Two members of Milton Abbey Combined Cadet Force have received awards at the Dorset Lord Lieutenants Award Ceremony which took place at West Dorset District Council in Dorchester.
Cadet Sergeant Ryan James Parker was one of four top Cadets in the county who was invested as Lord Lieutenants Cadet for the coming year. Ryan was selected for the honour of Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet due to his dedication and enthusiasm, both within and outside of cadet activities.
Following investiture, Ryan will accompany the Lord Lieutenant to a variety of occasions, including Royal Visits and Civic Ceremonies providing assistance to the Lord Lieutenant.
Commander Robin Nicholson was also recognised, and was awarded the Cadet Forces Medal (4th Clasp) and Gold Rosette. The Cadet Forces Medals and clasps are awarded to officers and uniformed adult instructors in recognition of long service. The medal is awarded after 12 years service, with six years of service is required for each subsequent clasp.
