Corporal Tom Titcombe promoted to the rank fo Sergeant

Accomplished Master Cadet, Corporal Tom Titcombe from 1225 Squadron Air Cadets in Swindon, has been promoted to the rank fo Sergeant.

Flight lieutenant and the Squadron’s Commanding Officer, Ian Kent, awarded Tom with the promotion following the Squadron’s Annual Inspection on July 10, 2013 during a parade in the evening.

Flt Lt Kent praised the commitment of Sergeant Titcombe, saying: “he has excelled recently, and is keen to achieve a lot in the Air Cadets. Now he is a Sergeant I expect to see great work from him in the future.”

Sergeant Titcombe is already a Master Cadet, after passing the Master Cadet Course, the highest academic award in the organisation.

In August, he plans to attend “Method of Instruction” course, which will enable him to teach and pass on his knowledge to other Cadets.

The accomplished 17 year-old is also working towards his Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award, and on Sunday July 21, he will be attending a Senior NCO Course.

Flt Lt Kent added: “All these achievements will have been completed before the age of 18, which is highly commendable, and demonstrates his fantastic work ethic on the Squadron”.
