An adult volunteer from Gloucestershire Army Cadet Force has shown outstanding commitment and dedication, juggling a full time job, studying for a Masters degree and volunteering as a Platoon Commander at Podsmead Platoon, Gloucestershire Army Cadet Force, in her spare time.
Estelle Bishop, who works as Head of Orthoptics at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, has just gained her Masters in Medical Science (Orthoptics) through Sheffield University.
And if all this wasn’t enough, Estelle has managed to achieve all of this whilst supporting and enhancing the futures of young people in her local community, by volunteering with the Army Cadet Force.
Whilst balancing a demanding day job, and studying for her Masters degree, Estelle has been committed to nurturing young people in her local community by carrying out the position of Platoon Commander, a demanding and time-consuming role in its own right.
The Army Cadet Force has locations across the UK, with detachments in most towns. No particular experience is required and all necessary training is provided. The Army Cadet Force has thousands of committed volunteers like Estelle, however they are always on the lookout for more.
If you like the idea of inspiring and leading young people and are looking for something to do in your spare time, why not visit your local Army Cadet Force detachment. To find out more go to armycadets.com/volunteer-with-us.
