More than 60 Royal Navy Reservists serving with HMS FLYING FOX in Bristol have been deployed since 2003.

It’s a proud achievement and one which the shore-based ship’s company is celebrating by way of a new operational deployment board inscribed with all their names.

The board was unveiled at a ceremony held at HMS FLYING FOX, Winterstoke Road, attended by the Lord-Lieutenant of Bristol and the Lord Mayor and other VIPs, employers as well as Reservists and their families.

It was also an opportunity for the guests to learn more about all the work of the RNR.

HMS Flying Fox is Bristol’s own Royal Navy Reserve unit. It recruits and trains personnel who can then deploy on operations around the globe alongside the regular Royal Navy.
