Bath Rugby and St Austell Brewery hold double signing of the Armed Forces Covenant

Bath Rugby and St Austell Brewery used the opening of the brand new, state of the art, Hares Brewery as the backdrop for signing the Armed Forces Covenant.  St Austell Brewery, who produce Bath Ales, are major sponsors of the Rugby Club and it was Bath Rugby’s CEO Tarquin McDonald who officially opened the Brewery.

 

St Austell Brewery will be demonstrating their commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant by:

  • Seeking to support the employment of veterans young and old and working with the Career Transition Partnership and their recruitment team.
  • Striving to support the employment of Service spouses and partners, and endeavouring to offer a degree of flexibility in granting leave for Service spouses and partners before, during and afters partner’s deployment.
  • Seeking to support employees who choose to be members of the Reserve Forces, including by accommodating their training and deployment where possible.
  • Offering support to local cadet units, either in the local community or in local schools where possible.

Bath Rugby’s Covenant pledges include:

  • Seeking to support the employment of veterans young and old, using the CTP to advertise vacancies where applicable.
  • Striving to support the employment of Service spouses and partners, and endeavouring to offer a degree of flexibility in granting leave for Service spouses and partners before, during and afters partner’s deployment.
  • Using a home fixture in November for a Remembrance Day Ceremony, including the Last Post, one minute’s silence and wreath laying.
  • bidding to host the yearly friendly, Bath United v The Armed Forces fixture at the Recreation Ground.
  • offering a discount to members of the Armed Forces Community; working with Tickets for Troops to donate tickets by offering 30 or more tickets for 5 games, across the season.

The covenants were signed by Bath Rugby’s CEO, Tarquin McDonald and St Austell Brewery’s CE, James Staughton.
