Yeovil Town signs Armed Forces Covenant

14.01.2019

Yeovil Town signed the Armed Forces Covenant to reaffirm its partnership with Defence.

By signing the Covenant, the club has made a commitment to support the country’s servicemen and women wherever and however it can and to ensure no member of the Armed Forces should suffer any disadvantage as a result of their service.

YTFC recognises the value serving personnel, reservists, veterans and military families bring to the business and will seek to uphold the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant, by:

  • Promoting the fact that we are an armed forces-friendly organisation;
  • Endeavouring to offer a degree of flexibility in granting leave for Service spouses and partners before, during and after a partner’s deployment;
  • Seeking to support our employees who choose to be members of the Reserve forces, including by accommodating their training and deployment where possible;
  • Aiming to actively participate in Armed Forces Day;
  • Offering a discount to members of the Armed Forces Community at the club’s discretion.

The Covenant was signed on behalf of the Ministry of Defence by Commander Jamieson-Stride, Commanding Officer of 815 Naval Air Squadron at Royal Naval Air Station Yeovilton and on behalf of YTFC by Chairman, John Fry.

Marking the occasion, the club is also offered Tickets For Troops, with servicemen or women with a valid ID also able to enjoy 10% off in the club store.

Commenting on YTFC’s Covenant signing, Chief Operating Officer, David Mills, said: “We are absolutely delighted to sign this covenant.

“Many of the club’s fans are members of the military community and it is only right that we show our support for them and their service in this way.

“We already have strong links with our colleagues in the military and their families but we hope that signing this covenant will be the start of an even stronger bond.”
