Vacancy - Employer Engagement Administrative Officer

A vacancy has arisen for an Employer Engagement Administrative Officer with the Wessex Reserve Forces and Cadets Association based at Taunton, Somerset. The Association provides support to the Reserve Forces and Cadets throughout the South West.

Applicants will be required to have sound IT skills including recent experience of Customer Relationship Management database administration & management.  The job will involve being part of a small team responsible for engagement with internal and external audiences through a variety of events & channels. 

The successful applicant may be required to travel occasionally within the South West Region; a pool car will be made available for these journeys and a full driving licence is essential; the post holder should also be prepared to attend training at the Council of RFCAs & DRM Central offices in London.

The salary is £19,559 per annum.

Annual leave, excluding public holidays, is 25 days per annum rising to 30 days after 5 years service.   Previous service in the public sector will count towards qualifying years’ service.

The successful applicant will be eligible to elect to join the Council of RFCAs Pension Scheme.  This is a Career Average Revalued Earnings (CARE) Scheme.

Vacancy - Finance Officer

A vacancy will arise in October 2017 for a Finance Officer with the Wessex Reserve Forces and Cadets Association based at Taunton, Somerset. The Association provides support to the Reserve Forces and Cadets throughout the South West.

Applicants will be required to have experience of Financial Planning (Short & Long Term), In-year Budget Management, Commercial Accounting procedures including preparation of Accounts for Audit, Charity Accounting, Savings/Efficiency Measures, Service Funds Accounting, Investments, Salaries, Superannuation and Inland Revenue. The job entails the supervision of a small Finance Section, and includes the compilation of statistical returns as required by the Ministry of Defence. The applicant must hold a formal accountancy qualification from ICAEW, CIMA or ACCA. The selected candidate may not be fully conversant with all the HR aspects of the role. In such a case, effective mentoring and training will be provided.

The salary is £37,940 per annum.

Vacancy - Deputy Commandant Wiltshire Army Cadet Force

Applications are invited for the position of Deputy Commandant, Wiltshire Army Cadet Force, based at Devizes. The post will become available in October 2017.

The posts of Cadet Deputy Commandants are voluntary appointments however the successful applicants will receive an allowance equivalent to the paid rank of Lieutenant Colonel up to a maximum of 28 days per annum under the Volunteer Allowance scheme. 

All candidates must hold, (or have previously held), a Land Forces commission. The initial appointments are for 3 years; with an option to extend for a further 2 years. Therefore all candidates should be under the age of 62: or ideally 60.

It is a requirement under the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Code of Practice that this position requires an ‘Enhanced Disclosure’ prior to appointment.
