Local healthcare provider supports Wiltshire cadets with life saving training equipment

24.03.2026

Cadets in Wiltshire are set to benefit from enhanced first aid training following a generous donation from Regent’s Park Healthcare, demonstrating the real world impact of support from organisations signed up to the Armed Forces Covenant.

The Salisbury based healthcare provider has funded three Resuscitation “Annie” manikins for Wiltshire Army Cadet Force, enabling young people to develop vital cardiopulmonary resuscitation skills as part of their training.

The equipment was formally presented during a visit to Larkhill Detachment, where representatives from Regent’s Park Healthcare met with cadets and adult volunteers to see first hand how their support will be used to build confidence and capability in life saving techniques.

For cadets, this kind of training goes far beyond the syllabus. It equips them with practical skills that can make a genuine difference in their communities, reinforcing the wider value of the cadet experience.

Regent’s Park Healthcare re-signed the Armed Forces Covenant in June last year, reaffirming their commitment to those who serve and have served. That commitment was further recognised in November when the organisation received the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award, the highest badge of honour for employers supporting the Armed Forces community.

This latest support to Wiltshire Army Cadets is a strong example of what that commitment looks like in practice. By investing directly in local young people, Regent’s Park Healthcare is helping to develop skills, resilience and confidence that will stay with cadets for life.

Wessex Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association has played an important role in connecting the organisation with the cadet force, acting as a bridge between Defence and employers across the region. Through its work to promote the Armed Forces Covenant and Defence Employer Recognition Scheme, Wessex RFCA helps ensure that support is not only pledged, but delivered in meaningful and lasting ways.

This partnership highlights the tangible value of employer engagement with Defence. It shows how organisations can make a direct and positive difference at a local level, while strengthening their own connection to the Armed Forces community.

As more employers across the South West step forward to sign the Covenant and progress through the Employer Recognition Scheme, initiatives like this demonstrate exactly why that support matters.
