Wessex RFCA is an independent, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to being the essential, effective, and enduring partner that supports and enables tri-service Reserves, Cadets, and the wider Armed Forces community across the South West.
Role Overview:
The Association Board is responsible for policy and the direction of the association’s work. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated individual in our recently enhanced Vice-Chair Air, Space and Cyber role to sit on the association board to ensure the RAFs interests and aspirations are understood and supported.
- Be the Wx RFCA ‘champion’ for all tri-service Air, Space and Cyber matters.
- Develop and maintain an awareness of RAF policy, plans and ambitions.
- Nurture relationships with RN Fleet Air Arm and the Army Air Corps.
- Enhance awareness of, interest in, and support for, the RAuxAF in the SW.
- Be the link between RAF St Mawgan, 505 (Wx) Sqn RAuxAF and Wx RFCA.
- Promote Wx RFCA support for RAuxAF recruiting and retention initiatives.
- Liaise with, and where appropriate, support the RAFs Air Officer South West.
- Sit on the Wessex RFCA Reserves Committee to promote reserve integration.
- Promote interest in non-public funds (e.g. Wx RFCA Special Purpose Fund).
- Support the CRFCA External Scrutiny Team (EST).
